I am a non-wire piercing tech, and backprobing is a pain I know, I modified my probing pins in this manner and ended all my back-probing woes. Vise grip the end to a 3/32" drill bit, and wrap about a half inch of the wire around the bit. Then straighten out the end about 1/8th inch and leave the point dull. Now just insert into the back of the connector, etc. and screw it in and you get a perfect connection.
